Help Needed

Hello all in blog world!

I have a favor to ask of you.

I heard that a great website that I visit often, Naturally Curly, is looking for five video bloggers or vloggers. I was super excited and made a video right away.

The contest ends on February 2, 2011. The way it works is, Naturally Curly will count the number of views I received on my video as the number of votes I received.

I ask that you can please go watch the video once a day and share the link on twitter, facebook, and your blog.

Thank you for your help!

Pictures from our trip

I have posted all of our pictures from our trip on Photobucket. I have password protected it, the password is Washington (just like that).

y son's class asked if we would take his class pet, Biscuit, with us and take pictures of him on his trip. You will see him in some of the pictures. (He is a stuffed dog)

Please enjoy the pictures. I ask that you don't copy any of the ones with people in it.

Our trip to Washington DC

Sorry it has taken me awhile to post an update on our trip, I had surgery on January 17th.

Our trip started off almost not happening. We were supposed to drive my mother's car. About an hour before my mom was to get off of school, an old woman hit my mother's car and totaled it! I was then running around like a chicken with my head cut off, looking for a car to use. (I really didn't want to use my car because it is older and I wanted to make it to Washington DC, not break down along the way.) I called my mother-in-law to ask her if I could use her car, she has a brand new 2010 car. I told her I would give her my car if I could use her car and she said alright.

We started out at 6pm and arrived to the hotel, the Capital Hilton, a little after 9pm. We couldn't believe how close we were to the White House! If you stepped outside our hotel you could see the White House! We were only two blocks away from the White House.

We went to our room and drop off our luggage then headed downstairs for dinner in the hotel restaurant. After dinner, we went to bed, knowing we had to be up early the next morning.

We woke up early the next morning, got showers, ate breakfast, got dressed and hair done. I double checked to make sure we had everything we needed for the White House tour and we were off.

We walked to the White House and stood in line with about 20-30 other people. We had to shut off our phones, show ID at two different podiums, and we went through about 2-3 metal detectors.

Once we got into the White House, we seen pictures all along the walls of the current President as well as past presidents. We talked to the Secret Service guy who was leading the tour and told him it was Asha's birthday and how she wanted to meet the President. He went away for a minute and came back with a picture of Bo for her!

On our tour we seen;
The Library
The Vermeil Room
The China Room
The East Room
The Green Room
The Blue Room
The Red Room
The State Dining Room

After our tour of the White House, we stayed in Washington DC another day so we could see the sights. We got really used to the Metro (underground train system).

Here are some of the places we went to;
Madame Tussauds
Lincoln Memorial (which has 58 steps, I counted)
Washington Monument
Reflecting Pool
Museum of American History
Museum of Natural History

All in all it was a great trip. Asha didn't get to meet President Obama, she she did get to step inside his house and take numerous pictures with him at Madame Tussauds (wax museum).

We wish we could've stayed longer, but we had to come home. Since the children were so well behaved, we are now planning a trip to New York to see the sights up there.

Hello to the WJAC-TV viewers

Most of our blog followers and readers are not from our local area, you probably have no idea what I am talking about.

Well, Asha and I were interviewed today by a lovely reporter from WJAC-TV. Asha and I were asked questions about her trip and this blog, Asha showed off her Obama collection, and she also showed her blog. When she was showing off her blog, she just had to scroll down to her favorite song and sing along to the video!

The interview is supposed to air tonight on WJAC-TV news at 11pm.

If I can get a copy of the interview I will post it on the blog for our non local readers to see. We are hoping that someone watching the interview can help Asha on her mission to meet Obama.

Not too long now

Next Friday, January 14th we will be in Washington DC taking Asha to tour the White House. As you might know already, Asha really wants to meet President Obama.

We know that is a BIG goal, but we hope someone out there can help her to meet President Obama while we are in Washington DC for her seventh birthday!

If she can't meet him we are going to try to take her to a wax museum down there that has a wax figure of him that she can get her picture with.

With a little over a week to go, I'm asking everyone reading this to help us figure a way she can meet President Obama or at least catch a glimpse of him.

Please help Asha!

Thank you
